PRETTY PRETTY KITTY
(The posterior view&her cut up muscles)

This is our lovely cat named Gertrude. Sadly, she met an unfortunate death on the trail on Mount Diablo. She was walking through nature, admiring the scenery and feeling the breeze in her hair like any normal cat does. All of a sudden a pack of bike riders came and ran her over and over again. It was a tragic death, but due to these injuries Gertrude got bruised and part of her body became too hurt to identify in the process of disectnig her muscles. Please excuse the pictures that are to come next!

Her wonderful neck!
Here you will see the Sternohyoid and Sternomastoid

We identified the spinotrapezius and acromiotrapezius

Here you will see the Gertrudes legs.

Some of the muscles in this area of Gertrude are the gracilis, sartorius, adductor longus, iliopsoas, vastus medialis, adductor femoris, pectineus and some other muscles.

Here you can see the vastus lateralis, adductor femoris, semimembransus, biceps femoris and some other muscles.

Here we could identify the the gluteus medius, gluteus maximus, bicept femoris, and tensor fasciae latae

Here are her arms
Here the muscles that were identified were the pectoralis major, pectoralis minor, tricepts brachii, clavobrachialis, pectoantebrachialis, and brachioradialis,

Here is the side view of Gertrude
You should be able to identify the Latissimus Dorsi as we did

This is the inside of the Latissimus Dorsi which contains the muscle called serratus anterior

Meet her Tummy!

You should be able to identify the muscles of the tummy, such as the external oblique, internal oblique, rectus abdominis, transverse abdominis and the latissimus dorsi is visible in this picture as well.

We enjoyed our time spent with Gertrude, even though she was dead and smelled like very toxic chemicals. She was a very big part of our lives, alive and dead. Esther, Sydney, Erin and Annie owe Gertrude for their good grade on the lab practical. Gertrude 1/5/10- 2/17/2011 <3
